Sony VAIO SVD112290X Review – A Powerful Ultrabook With a 3rd Generation Intel Core Processor

If there’s a computer manufacturer that consistently puts out quality notebooks and netbooks, it’s Sony. The new 11.6-inch Sony VAIO SVD112290X is a testament to this. It’s a quality netbook that comes with a large solid state drive, 3rd generation Intel Core processor, and a whole lot more. Its wireless technology enables users to enjoy PC multimedia content from a variety of sources.

Since it’s small and lightweight, you can take it with you wherever you go without any problems. The lithium polymer battery (4960 mAh) gives the netbook a long life per charge. There is an option to order a screen protector for the SVD112290X. This might be something you need if you plan on carrying around with you on a frequent basis.

The 11.6-inch display is a full high-definition IPS touch model. It delivers superior images and colors with a resolution of 1920×1080.

This ultrabook is powered by a 3rd generation Intel core processor. This is a more powerful processor than the Sandy Bridge models found in other netbooks. It also consumes less power than the Sandy Bridge processors. If the 3rd generation i3 (3227U) base processor isn’t enough for you, you’ll have the option to go with an i5 or i7 model, both of which are compatible with turbo boost technology.

As for the memory, the ultrabook comes with 4 GB (2 x 2 GB fixed onboard). This is pretty standard for a notebook of this size. You can select a 6 GB or 8 GB (2 x 4 GB fixed onboard model) if you want more RAM. The more memory your ultrabook has, the faster it will be able to run – especially when you want to do some multitasking or stream some videos.

You can store a good amount of files and documents on the 123 GB solid state drive. Other options include a 256 GB SSD and 512 GB SSD. This ultrabook comes with special hard drive technology to protect the SSD.

The graphics that the SVD112290X comes with are Intel HD graphics (4000 series). This is considerably more powerful than the 3000 series found in standard netbooks. The 4000 graphics series is compatible with wireless display technology, which means you can view the screen on a larger (compatible) display without having to use wires. You can also connect the netbook to a larger display with an HDMI cord thanks to the HDMI out it comes with.

This ultrabook comes with everything you could ever hope for in a portable companion. The technology is superior and there will always be room for upgrades. If you want a small, yet powerful netbook that you can carry around with you as you travel, then the Sony VAIO SVD112290X is a great choice.
